Today, American Chemet is the world leader for Cuprous and Cupric Oxides, the first of which was developed in 1962. By the early 1970’s, it was producing Copper Oxides for Catalysts, Agriculture, Ceramics, Chemicals and Ferrite applications, and had initiated development of its unique very low tinting Cuprous Oxide, “LoLo Tint ® 97.” The Company developed its “Premium” Cuprous Oxide line of products in 1986 which has since become a world standard. In the late 1970’s, American Chemet began to look toward the export markets for growth. American Chemet Export Corporation was formed to concentrate on sales opportunities outside the United States and since then has developed a worldwide network of agents and distributors.
